How to play

1. Look at the photograph. Read everything — clothes, cars, signs, technology, film grain.
2. Drag the slider to the year you think it was taken. Arrow keys work too, one year at a time.
3. Lock it in. Closer guesses score more: an exact year is worth 5,000 points, and points fall off fast as you miss.

Five photographs a day, 25,000 points possible. Everyone gets the same puzzle. Stuck? Hints come in three levels — the era (−20%), three clues about the scene (−30%), then the decade (−40%). Take only what you need. Come back tomorrow for the next one — and share your grid, it spoils nothing.
